Chess Strategy Explained

Chess Strategy Explained

This is a manual for learning strategy, which discusses several elements that will allow readers to better understand the purpose of the game based on specific examples from the practice of Grandmaster Bartholomew Maciei and International Master Vitalis Sapis ("Chess Master's Strategy"). "Chess Strategy Explained" is an expanded version of the book "Chess Master's Strategy."

Manual recommended by the Polish Chess Federation

The number of possible positions in chess is enormous, on the order of 10^42.5 according to Shannon’s estimate, and the number of different games that can be played, even if limited to just 40 moves, is far greater than the number of atoms in the known, observable universe. This means that even the most powerful computers cannot calculate everything accurately.

In the practice of every chess player, it is essential to think strategically, search for different plans and skillfully assess the consequences of choosing them. Gradual improvement of positions is often the key to success in the whole game. Not surprisingly, such valued qualities in life as strategic thinking, critical thinking, logical thinking, analytical thinking, the ability to solve problems, anticipate and make rational decisions, concentration, patience and memory can be naturally improved by playing chess regularly, which is strongly encouraged.

The purpose of the book is to introduce the basic strategic principles of chess, as well as to show with concrete examples the benefits of their application. We noticed that there are not many books on such topics aimed at a wide audience, so we decided to fill this gap.
